NABAD ART GALLERY

What: TRENDSETTING III is the third edition in a series of annual exhibitions dedicated to promoting design, a relatively new but fast-growing art genre in Jordan. The exhibition brings together 11 young and mid-career Jordanian artists to exhibit an innovative collection of uniquely designed decorative and functional items, in addition to a number of artworks. Artists are: Basel Uraiqat, Basma Abdullah, Dodi Tabbaa, Juman Nimri, Anees Maani, Ghada Dahdaleh, Omar Bilbeisi, Shereen Audi, Rula Atalla, Hani Alqam and Nawal Abdullah.

What: “Rêve-évolution” a solo exhibition for Syrian artist Rania Moudaress presents a series of female portraits inspired by a selection of persons and social concerns that are part of her direct and indirect environment.

Ayyam Gallery – Beirut

What: (Inner-Self) is the 3rd solo exhibition by Syrian artist Kais Salman presenting a departure from his previous (Fashion Series). Known for his edgy figures and captivating details, Kais upcoming exhibition surly guarantees to transfer audience to a different place but not dispatched from reality.

When: September 20 until October 30, 2012.

Cuadro Gallery

What: Cuadro Gallery presents 3 solo exhibitions first British-Iraqi Athier titled (Hold Me In) exploring the perception of progress in contemporary Arab society and the impact of architectural and cultural construction on both local identity and global perception. Secondly (Esmi “My Name”) by Manal AlDowayan an installation of prayer beads is her second participatory project with the women of Saudi Arabia. Finally an interesting photography exhibition by Ammar Mohammed Al Attar titled (Prayer Rooms).

Green Art Gallery

What: “Wounds” photography solo exhibition by Syrian artist Jaber Al Azmih a series that began and evolved along with the revolutionary movements happening in Syria during the crucial first ten months that the country was in turmoil.

XVA Gallery

What: “Adjacent and Across” a group exhibition focusing on the works of Pakistani women artists Simeen Farhat & Faiza Butt.

Frey Noris Gallery

What: Trio solo exhibions hosted by Frey Noris for Canadian artist, Howie Tsui and Israeli born, Bay Area artist, Dana Harel and Surrealist exhibition Stellar Orbits: Lovers and Intellectuals Among Surrealists and Their Peers.

When: September 6 – October 13, 2012.

Galerie Janine Rubeiz

What: “In Tolerance” a solo exhibition by Lebanese artist Ghassan Ghazal, where he cascades his fantasy and vision of reality in symbols of bright colors and abstract figures and shapes.

When: September 5 – 22, 2012

Leila Heller Gallery

What: “Silence of the Night” a solo exhibition of 10 sand paintings and an installation by the visual artist and musician Reza Derakshani.

What: “Taqaseem” a group exhibition features three Arab painters; Laila Masri, Mohamed Elmoslemany, and Mona Chouk. “Taqaseem”presents the meanings of forms, portraits, and figures to the artists.

What: ‘In the Name of Freedom’ a solo exhibition of Palestinian artist, Oussama Diab feature a selection of his latest paintings employ symbolist interpretations of current events and concerns.

Ayyam Art Center, Alserkal Avenue

What: Two photographic series by Iranian photographer Majid Koorang Beheshti  entitled ‘Telling Spaces’, will provide a unique opportunity to view the span of imagination, politically reactionary work, and beauty of line created by today’s artists of Iran.
