Ayyam Gallery is known to promote established artists and taking the challenge in emerging ones through exhibitions in their spaces in Damascus, Beirut, Dubai (Ayyam Art Center – Al Qouz) and (Ayyam Gallery DIFC). As well as The Young Collectors Auction, the first of its kind among commercial spaces in the region that have feature well-deserved Arab, Iranian and Turkish artists to meet its diverse range of clients. Not to forget participation in numerous international and regional art fairs.

By targeting one of the main international art markets, London, Ayyam Gallery proves supporting and boosting Middle East art scene in expand it. Ayyam may not be the first or last Middle Eastern based gallery to open in UK but will certainly compete with international established galleries.

Ayyam London will launch at its location at 143 New Bond Street on 24 January 2013 with a solo exhibition of work by influential Lebanese artist and architect Nadim Karam and later on solo shows by Sadik AlFraji (March 2013) Safwan Dahoul (May 2013) Khaled Takreti (September 2013) Afshin Pirhashemi (October 2013) and Samia Halaby (November 2013).

Nadim Karam’s exhibition ‘Shooting the Cloud’ will comprise a series of new paintings, rich in colour and presenting a playful, almost satirical, perception of love and war. These will be shown alongside editions of his iconic steel sculptural works, described as ‘urban toys’ by the artist. ‘Shooting the Cloud’ is running until March 9, 2013.

Founded in Damascus in 2006 by collectors and cousins Khaled and Hisham Samawi, Ayyam Gallery is recognised today as a leading cultural voice in the region, representing a roster of Arab and Iranian artists with an international profile and museum presence.
