The journey of art starts small, yet grows gradually and steady. It takes patience, determination, openness and great well to change. Living in the Middle East gives me the opportunity to be closer to the fast growing art scene across the region and witness how it is changing… Especially in Dubai! Security & politically stable, economically strong and censorship decreases gradually, Dubai has become the main hub in art in the Middle East – especially after the unrest in Cairo and Damascus – embracing emerging and established cultural movements regionally and internationally, proving a safe dynamic art investment market and a manifesto for related activities, from fairs to exhibitions. My friends and family are still surprised with the times I travel to Dubai to attend events and exhibitions throughout the year, but it is March that I can’t miss!
Dubai Art Week 2014, a Top Destination every March for so many reasons; DIFC Art Nights, AlSerkal Art Nights, Art Dubai, SIKKA, Design Days Dubai and more! Last year, I shared with you my journals in Dubai Art Week 2013 (part one | part two), expressing the joy and fun and commitment to deliver a genuine experience and give a glance of what goes on in that particular week of the year. Here are my 2014 journals – part one – & start marking your calendar for next year’s if you haven’t ever been to the cultural Dubai!

We’re proud to have been a pioneering spirit helping to grow the UAE’s reputation as an international hub for the region, working together with our artists, galleries, patrons and sponsors.” Fair Director Antonia Carver
