The trip was not over in Dubai Art Week, I tried to see as much as I can and be involved in many activities happening around the city and one of the most exciting adventure was to visit Tashkeel, which is located in an area between Dubai and Al Ain, to see “Turning Points” exhibition. At Alserkal Avenue, Isabelle Van Den Eynde hosted a tremendous extravaganza exhibition by three pioneer Iranian artists: Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian that many friends in Dubai recommended I see it. There was also ZHIVAGO DUNCAN: AS THE JUNGLE WEEPS opening at JAMM in Al Qouz where I got the chance to meet Ramin Salsali and see once again the Beirut Art Fair masterminds: Odille Pascal and Laure Laure d’Hauteville who gave Al Mahha Art exclusive quick and spontaneous interview about their Singapore Art next November!
Back to Art Dubai where I couldn’t miss attending Global Form, meeting the two geniuses behind The Energy Charger and the most priceless things was the chance to sit, talk, discuss & listen to artists, curators & writers from around the world who share the same concerns and ambitions for Middle East art scene… If you missed my review on Art Dubai, click here.

Day 4: Global Art Forum | Art Dubai Projects
Date: March 21, 2014
Time: from 2 – 7 PM
“The Global Art Forum is a unique event with an amazing constellation of topics and projects devised by artists, intellectuals and regional experts.” Global Art Forum Co-Director Ala Younis

“Art Dubai Projects produces a dynamic mix of works, installations, performances, and draws on content as diverse as that of the fair,” says Antonia Carver, Fair Director.
My favorite Art Dubai Project 2014 was an installation by Emirati artist Sarah Al Haddad… A huge orange net spread from the top to ground of stairs linking between Madinat Jumeirah and Mina Al Salam Hotel.

Day 5: Street Charger Middle East
Date: March 22, 2014
Time: 4 – 6
“We are truly fortunate to have ample sun in this part of the world and tapping into this solar energy potential on an everyday accessible level is fast becoming a need and a requirement.” Mujahid Salman, Founder and CEO of 174 Solar.
So here is a story, my friend artist Shereen Audi was sitting next to me when her mobile battery started dying! Usual right?! We were sitting at the terrace area in Madinat Jumeirah – where Art Dubai was held – I told her “I have a charger but you need to find a place to charge”
“We don’t have to” She said “There is energy polar chargers!” and I was stunned!
Two geniuses as I said, Mujahid & Ahmed Salman brought the first solar public charging station in the Middle East at Art Dubai. Spearheaded by 174 Solar, a Dubai-based company focusing on sustainable-centric initiatives, and in collaboration with Goumbook, a leading green-information online platform, Street Charge Middle East aims to bring accessible solar power to urban communities. Merging the latest in solar technology and modern product design, the drop-in solution stations provided all attendees an easy way to harness the sunʼs energy and charge their mobile devices. Coinciding and resonating with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoumʼs latest Smart City initiatives aiming to improve overall quality of life in Dubai, Street Charge naturally supports the governmentʼs strategic projects, ahead of Expo 2020 and beyond.
