Péju Alatise A Controversial African Gen

A contemporary female artist from Nigeria who is setting new expectations for artists all around the world with her controversial artworks and project… Péju Alatise born in 1975 and based in Lagos.

Alatise is a fellow at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art and the 2017 winner of the FNB Art Prize in Johannesburg. Her work was exhibited at the 57th Venice Biennale as well as in numerous exhibitions in New York, Florence, Morocco, London and elsewhere.

Peju Alatise, has been selected as one of the 114 architects and artists participating at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, organized by La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale). This comes three years after she represented Nigeria alongside two other artists, at its debut pavilion at Venice Arte Biennale. The 17th International Architecture Exhibition will run from May 22, 2021 to November 21, 2021.
